New Access to the Susquehanna River Walk
Access to the Susquehanna River Walk from Basin Street in Williamsport may soon be possible for pedestrians and cyclists. The new River Walk extension will pass under I-180 beside the on ramp, proceed up to the level of the rail line, cross it, and then continue up to the River Walk.
By crossing the I-180 down ramp at the light, the new access will connect the River Walk to the East End Project and connect Lycoming College to the river.
Much coordination between the city, PennDOT, the railroad, and the dike authority were required to make this work. Funding for all the work was also a complex process. We hope the project will be completed this year.
Special thanks to Sandra Gallick, a junior at PCT who made the graphics from a preliminary design by Larson Design Group.

Repair a Bike
Ever wish there was a place to get help on repairing your bike? In our shop, you do not drop a bike off for us to fix.
Bring your bike into our shop and for a small fee we will work with you and teach you repair techniques. You can use our tools and our recycled parts.
Donations & Volunteer Opportunities
Give back to our community by donating your old bike, or donate funds to help keep us going.
If your old bike is usable or can be repaired, bring it to us rather than to the landfill. It’s better for the environment, for people who need transportation, for kids who outgrow a bike quickly, and for anyone who wants to get out and experience the joys of cycling.
Whether large or small, your donated funds help keep us in operation. You can make a one-time donation or set up a small monthly contribution. Donations are tax deductible.
Please specify the donation is for Williamsport Bicycle Recycle.
We are always looking for volunteers of different backgrounds – skilled mechanics for bike repair and refurbishment, those willing to learn, general shop work such as cleaning or organizing, marketing and social media management, or web design and management.
We’re working towards a Bike-Friendly Williamsport
Not all cities, including Williamsport, are lucky enough to have bike-friendly streets. That doesn’t mean it should stay that way. Bike Advocacy works toward making our city streets bike-friendly both now and in the future by getting bike-friendly streets integrated into city planning.
